North American Pawpaw Fruit Earrings

These hand-sculpted polymer clay earrings are shaped like the North American pawpaw fruit and hand-painted with green, brown, and yellow acrylic paints before being sealed with a clear glaze.

The North American Pawpaw, or Asimina triloba, is a species of small deciduous tree that is native to the eastern portion of the continent. This beloved native tree produces a large, yellowish-green fruit with brown seeds that is so beloved by many that my hometown of Albany, Ohio hosts the Pawpaw festival every fall in which individuals can sample foods and drinks made with this edible fruit.
